Wow, what a great time! Thanks to all for coming out and helping to make the Stone 7th Anniversary Open House & Invitational Beer Festival the best one ever

Saturday, August 23rd 2003 - 9:00PM
Whoa, what a rush...and what an incredible time! We know it's our job to surprise you from time to time, but this time you surprised us. About 500-1000 more people than expected showed up. We built in extra capacity to the event and you maxed us out, but fortunately only by a little. Many booths ran out of beer...no prob, we got more. We ran out of the official tasting glasses...no prob, we had plastic backup glasses. And so on. We really gotta hand it to everyone that came to enjoy, to the volunteers that provided invaluable help and to our own crew that in every instance rose above and beyond.

Initial estimate is that attendance was somewhere over the 4,000 mark --- we had anticipated 3,500 taking into account our usual year-over-year growth curve (I suppose if anybody should know better than to think any growth curve associated with Stone would be "usual" it should be us!).

This year the informal theme was mohawks. Kudos to the adventurous that either showed up in stunning 'hawks or submitted their noggins to 13 year-old Brianna who was training their locks to stand proud and tall!

Next year is the return to the every-two-years-from-now-on "formal" theme of Dye Your Hair For Charity with the "Stone Brewing's Make Your 'Do Blue Week."

Also next year we promise to get those lines down for everything from the ever-popular Arrogant Bastard Ale Onion Rings to the porta-potties. We want to hear from you. Tell us what we did right and let us know areas for improvement --- send kudos and comments to Stone Anniversary Open House point man, Chris Cochran.

Cheers!
