San Marcos, San Diego County, CA --- Stone Brewing Co. announced today that the company's Tasting Room is an official drop-off point for the 2005 Holiday Food Drive, a joint collaboration between North County Food Bank and San Diego Food Bank. The goal of the food drive is to collect food and non-perishable items that will be assembled into baskets and distributed to more than 25,000 families and individuals who, without these donations, would possibly be hungry during this holiday season.

In keeping with the brewery's philanthropic tradition, Stone is once again doing something to aid the community. In the past two years alone, the brewery has raised over $134,000 for charitable causes. Now Stone feels it’s time to give back to the San Diego region as a whole and make the Holidays special for as many families as possible. "Our fans are pretty darn passionate when it comes to supporting great causes," said Stone Brewing CEO Greg Koch. "If we ask them to bring in food…they'll bring in LOTS of food, and dropping off the food donations at our Tasting Room gives them the opportunity to feel good inside and out!"

Last year the Food Bank, with the assistance 65 participating agencies and the North County Senior Visitor Program, donated food to over 25,000 families and individuals. Stone Brewing will be accepting food donations (cans or dry goods only) every Friday and Saturday until December 31st, during regular Tasting Room hours. "The people of San Diego have supported us and we enjoy giving support back with this food drive," Koch said.

To add incentive, the brewery will give donators coupons that are good for discounts on Stone Brewing glassware at the brewery's Gift Shop.
