Stone 8th Anniversary Ale Revealed

San Marcos, CA --- In celebration of Stone Brewing's eight years of brewing, the company has announced the release of its Stone 8th Anniversary Ale.

Stone 8th Anniversary Ale will begin hitting shelves on August 16th, and draft will be unveiled at the Stone 8th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival on August 21st.

Stone 8th Anniversary Ale is, like all previous Stone Anniversary Ales, an adaptation of a previous Stone Brewing Co. releases. “This year we set out to make a “Anniversary-ized” version of Lee's Mild, a limited release beer from 1999,” said Stone Head Brewer Lee Chase. “For this beer we used some of the same malts that we had used in the Lee's Mild, added more hops, less water to bring the alcohol content up, all of which lead to a tasty balance of toasty/roastyness from the malt and a subtle hop presence. Well, the hops are subtle by Stone standards anyway.” To add further complexity, oak was employed to round out the character and give the beer a bit of vanilla/bourbon influence.

The result is a 7.8% monster of roasty/toasty flavors, with a late hop bitterness reports Chase. The subtle oak character makes its appearance in the long finish.

Stone 8th Anniversary Ale is available in 22oz bottles. A list of regions and retailers can be found here. Draft will also be available at a handful of select pubs in limited areas.
