Stone Brewing Converts Fire Truck
To A Rolling Brewery

#1 Rated USA Brewery Participates In Monster Garage Project

The Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage" is famous for transforming ordinary vehicles into extraordinary machines of incredible imagination, and is watched by "gearheads" far and wide. The Stone Brewing Co. is famous for brewing the most extraordinary beers imaginable, and are sought out by beer lovers far and wide. So it's no surprise that the guys at Monster Garage contacted Stone Brewing when they had an idea for a new project. A beer project!

"I got a call from [Monster Garage Producer] Geno Freselli who said 'we're going to turn a fire truck into a mobile brewery... wanna be involved?'" recalled Stone Brewing's Chris Cochran. "My initial reaction was 'hell yeah' until I heard more about the details. Then I modified my response to add an exclamation point!"

After that "hell yeah!" answer, the plans started coming together and soon Stone Head Brewer Lee Chase was on his way to a week long adventure of imagining, sourcing, and fabricating the brewery. In all, a team of five diverse talents were gathered for the project. Chase's role as "professional beer genius & amateur fabricator / welder" meant that he was a crucial member of the team. Chase participated with every aspect of the design, layout and building of the project, culminating in turning the 1963 International Fire Truck into a mobile brewery. And then brewing on it.

Also on the team were Ron Krol – AAA Metal Fabrication, George Plumlee – a fabricator, Otto Petersen – a welding expert, John Legnard – brewer, Sandlot Brewery /Coors, and Jesse James – Monster Garage host.

According to Chase, the build went extremely well and the entire crew was able to successfully transform the vintage fire truck into a working brewery... all on schedule! The episode will debut on The Discovery Channel on Monday, August 9th at 9:00pm ET/PT. Be sure to settle down in front of the TV with a nice cold bottle of Stone Pale Ale, Stone IPA, Arrogant Bastard Ale (or any other Stone brew) and see for yourself how Chase and the rest of the team did.

Additionally, the Monster Garage Fire Truck Brewery will be making an appearance at the Stone 8th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival, a charitable fundraiser that has grown to become Southern California's largest beer festival! Attendees will be able to indulge in a selection of great food and beers from over 20 guest breweries.

Founded in 1996, Stone Brewing is one of the fastest growing and most respected breweries in the US. The brewery is located at 155 Mata Way in San Marcos, CA. For more info on the Stone 8th Anniversary Celebration, go to www.stonebrewing.com or call the brewery at (760) 471-4999.
